The Wizard of Oz
Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through Kansas and whisks her and her dog, Toto, far away to the magical land of Oz. To get home Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City and find the wonderfully mysterious Wizard of Oz. Together with her companions – the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, whom she meets on the way – Dorothy embarks on a strange and enchanting adventure.
This stage version of THE WIZARD OF OZ was first presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Barbican Centre in London in 1987. Featuring book adaptations by John Kane, this RSC Version follows the famous motion picture even more closely than its predecessor.

Musical Direction by Reece Sauvé
Reece Sauvé is excited to be part of the music education program at Bainbridge Performing Arts! Over the past few years, he has garnered wide attention in niche circles for his work as a musical theatre director, pianist, vocalist, actor, and music teacher for all ages. His passion for performance quality is matched only by his passion for fun in the rehearsal process.
Reece studied piano performance and conducting at Willamette University and choral direction at Central Washington University. While at CWU, he co-founded the award-winning acapella ensemble Nada Cantata. Since its formation, the group has flourished and is now the flagship ensemble of an entire acapella program which thrives at the university entering its third generation of student-leadership.
His performance style is expressive, robust, and lends itself well to the dramatic nature of Musical Theatre. He exhibits a buoyant, magnetic energy in the rehearsal space and works hard to make sure that his students and casts are performing to their utmost potential when the curtain comes up.
His show credits as an actor include Company (Bobby), Peter Pan (Smee), and Wizard of Oz (Cowardly Lion). He has served as music and vocal director throughout Kitsap and Mason counties on titles including Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Evita, Annie and has lent his skills as an accompanist to shows such as Sound of Music, Urinetown, Ruthless!, and Pirates of Penzance.
Choreography by Angela Snyder
Angela Snyder is a performing and teaching artist who has worked with numerous companies on many stages all over the PNW. She currently teaches Dance Technique in the Intensive program with Studio East and most recently appeared in Little Shop of Horrors with Reboot Theatre Company. In addition she holds a BA in Drama/Minor in Music from the University of Washington and pursued her graduate studies in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at EWU. Fun fact: The Wizard of Oz was the very first musical Angela performed in at age 10 in which she played the Guardian of the Gate of Munchkin City, and she is very excited to revisit the Merry Ole Land of Oz!
