BPA's holiday hit, Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical is SOLD OUT. For day-of-show returns, please arrive at BPA an hour before curtain, and check in with the Box Office. You must be in the lobby to add your name to the list. If tickets become available they will be allocated first come, first served. Thank you for your understanding.

This magical story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny is based on Roald Dahl’s beloved book.

Associate Direction by Adam Othman

Adam has always called the Northwest home, receiving his degree in theatre performance from Seattle University and working as an actor, director and teacher throughout the area. Recent directing credits include Peter and the Starcatcher and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at the Driftwood Players, and Tarzan at the Kitsap Forest Theater. Adam has 30 years’ experience as an acting teacher and currently leads the theatre and filmmaking programs at Seattle Preparatory School. He is excited to bring his creative and “naughty” behavior to the artistic team at BPA.

MUSICAL DIRECTION BY JOSH ANDERSON

Josh Anderson is thrilled to return to BPA for this production. Formerly the Resident Music Director for BPA, past credits include Shrek, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Side By Side, Hair and many others for BPA, as well as work with Seattle Musical Theater, Second Story Rep, Tacoma Musical Playhouse just to name a few. As an educator, Anderson spent ten years teaching musical theatre and voice from Olympia to Everett for a variety of theater and educational organizations, in addition to running a private vocal practice in Seattle. Recently back from Minnesota where he composed a new song cycle (Lilith) for Red Eye Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Josh splits his time between commercial fishing and musical theatre.

Choreography by Heather Dawson

Heather received her dance training in the preparatory divisions of Cornish and Pacific Northwest Ballet. After a 10-year hiatus, during which she was involved in cheerleading and gymnastics, she joined Arc Dance Company for one season. Heather founded the dance program at Seattle Preparatory High School, which focuses on musical theater. She continues to indulge her passion for dance by choreographing for a number of local theaters. Heather has choreographed BPA’s Return to the Forbidden Planet, Big Fish, Mary Poppins, Spamalot, and BPA Theatre School’s Legally Blonde The Musical Jr. and Seussical, and she was also seen dancing in The Drowsy Chaperone.
