ANNOUNCING BPA’S 2022/2023 MAINSTAGE SEASON
Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to kick off our 2022/2023 season of Mainstage shows. There’s something for everyone, beginning this October through next fall when we’re back home in the new Buxton Center for Bainbridge Performing Arts.
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH
October 13-23, 2022
Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock ‘n’ roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, and is left with just “an angry inch.” This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine backed by Yitzhak and the hard-rock band “The Angry Inch.” It’s a rocking ride, funny, touching, and ultimately inspiring to anyone who has felt life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile.
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY
December 8-11, 2022
This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.
*Be sure to stay tuned for news from our Theatre School program about a special holiday show for all ages!
THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME
March 16-26, 2023
Based on the best-selling novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens. See the world through Christopher’s eyes as he embarks on an extraordinary journey where he challenges assumed truths and discovers life-changing secrets. A thrilling, heartwarming, and uplifting adventure story for every one of us.

New Mask & Vaccination Policies
With a new season, comes a new COVID-19 policy. Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback through our mask and vaccination survey. After a thorough review of the results, our Staff & Board of Directors have decided to lift our policies requiring proof of vaccination and masks. Masks will no longer be required, but are strongly encouraged while inside the theater. Vaccination status will no longer be considered to attend or participate in BPA events. Our Theatre School protocols shall mirror BISD’s policies as it pertains to masking and vaccination.
